Missing girl found dead in Fort Lauderdale

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Authorities have identified a decomposing body as that of a 13-year-old girl who had been missing for three weeks.

The body of Neica Marie Gibbs of Fort Lauderdale was found wrapped in a tarp in front of a trash bin Wednesday.

Police said the trash bin was just steps away from a home where Neica was supposed to attend a sleepover three weeks ago.

Fort Lauderdale Police said it is unclear how Neica died. An autopsy is scheduled.
